Hopefully objections will be heard

Residents have until December 2 to lodge their complaints against the shopping centre in De Waal Street being rezoned to a Metal Wellness Clinic.

The notice referred to in M Shackleford’s letter was brought to my attention on November 5 and I too was appalled at the small size of the legal notice placed on the fence.

I was also appalled by the fact that the shop tenants were not notified before the notice was put up. This is disgraceful treatment of local business people who are a intrinsic part of our community. On returning home I immediately sent Mr Theron an email detailing my objections to the proposed rezoning. Ideally a registered letter would have been best, but we all know that is impossible right now. I hope that emails sent will be read and considered, but given the goings-on in the area regarding enforcing local municipal bylaws, I feel that any objections will be ignored and money will talk.

Disgraceful
