ALBERTON – The man who drove the vehicle said that he would not like to comment as he was in an emergency vehicle and ready to be taken to the Union Hospital, according to Wimpie van Vuuren, from the emergency service.

The passenger in the vehicle was in a rush and taken to the Union Hospital by the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services.

The resident from the 10th Avenue, who would not like to be named and is renting the property, said that he got a huge fright.

Prior to the accident, he was on his nebuliser and lying down inside his house. He was facing the windows.

He saw the truck coming down the road and the next thing, he heard a bang and saw it crash into the wall. The second bang he heard was when the truck destroyed the entire braai area. The truck did not topple over but remained upright.

The man then came through the front entrance and asked if they were okay. According to him, someone had made contact with the necessary ambulance departments to attend to the matter.
