Two suspects caught in Brackenhurst for theft

Male suspects stole five cellphones and had three knives

BRACKENHURST – On August 26 Constable Dyantyisi and Warrant Officer Lepheana were patrolling along Jackson Street, Brackenhurst at around 11:00.

A Fox Security officer stopped the SAPS and reported that two men were robbed of their belongings.

The FOX Officer described the suspects and their whereabouts towards the R59.

The SAPS drove in that direction and found the two suspects at an open veld between Jackson Street and the R59 and gave chase on foot. The suspects were caught 5km from the scene.

The two male suspects were searched, and the items recovered included three knives and five cellphones. The suspects, aged 20 and 22, were charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and robbery with a weapon other than a firearm.
