A place to meet and catch up

A place where friendship can be rekindled

A;nerton – De Landauer in Alberton North opened on July 17, 1995. A place that started off as a coffee and cake venue combined with a gift shop had grown into a full restaurant serving various dishes to the Alberton community.

Marie-Louise was the first owner. She purchased the house on June 12, 1995 and sold it, venturing into new directions.

In 1997, owner Anneline van der Merwe, who had lived in Alberton for a number of years, knew what the Alberton community wanted. According to the description of the restaurant back then, everyone felt calm and relaxed when they visited her coffee bar and gift shop.

It was a good place to collect your thoughts over a good cup of coffee and catch up with friends and loved ones.

The menu consisted of pancakes, salads and for the men, delicious mixed grills. During that time the restaurant also received it’s liquor license which includes the choice of various alcoholic drinks.

According to the books by the present owner Marinda Visser, Elize Kruger bought the restaurant in August 2008 and sold it to her on August 3.

In 2008 the restaurant included a lapa venue that seated 70 people.
