Sewage flows like a river near Christiaan Street
SEWAGE AGAIN! It flows directly into Amanda’s backyard
AMANDA Nel from Christiaan Street in Brackenhurst is concerned about living conditions. She reported sewage problems to the EMM for the past three weeks.
She was issued reference numbers 112 0059, 100 6497 and 105 1760, but the EMM has still not attended to the matter. On July 22 she made calls expecting answers but never received any reference numbers.
Fikile Baloyi, who is a neighbour of Amanda’s, said that the EMM had come out on Wednesday July 16, when she requested that they remove the problem from her backyard. She told them that they should make a pipe so that the sewage did not flow into her property.
According to Fikile, they did this, but the sewage now flows outside her yard where the manhole is situated. All of it is flowing outside like a river, directly into Amanda’s back yard.
Amanda Nel has pleaded with the EMM to come and sort out the problem, but they didn’t help her in any way.
“All I want is proper and sufficient service delivery, because we pay a lot for sewage every month,” said Amanda.
