Victim support training completed

The Brackendowns SAPS victim support unit's newest members have completed their training.

ALBERTON – Brackendowns victim support unit is pleased to announce that training has been completed for its new members. The unit works under the auspices of the Brackendowns SAPS and comprises volunteers from Brackendowns community who assist the community that have been affected by crime. This victim support unit is there to help prevent suicides and assist people with any kind of trauma they might be going through. Victims of domestic violence can get advice from them – the unit is a phone call away. The Brackendowns SAPS are called to the scene. Once they have seen the victims, the police phone Captain Trevor Bohler, who then contacts one of the trained volunteers to assist the victims.
