CPS Security’s patrols slash neighbourhood crime rates

CPS Security encourages locals to continue working with it to reduce crime in the area.

CPS Security continues the fight against crime in Alberton and the neighbouring areas, making several arrests in the past week.

Murder and hijacking in Glenvista

A vehicle wanted for a case of armed robbery in the Boksburg area in September triggered a license plate recognition camera.

This suspect was arrested in Glenvista for murder and hijacking.

The lookout was circulated to CPS Security tactical units, which saw the wanted vehicle travelling on True North Road. They stopped it and contacted the Mondeor SAPS for assistance.

Highway Patrol transported the vehicle and driver to the Boksburg SAPS, where the driver was charged with murder and hijacking because the driver of the hijacked vehicle was killed during the crime.

Robbers arrested in Alrode

A CPS reaction team saw two suspicious individuals carrying a huge bag filled with something.

Two robbers arrested in Alrode.

They pulled the men over and interrogated them, and other CPS reaction units stopped to help.

CPS found the men with a blank gun, suspected stolen goods and house-breaking equipment.

The two suspects were detained and handed to the Brackendown SAPS.

The CPS officers believe the stolen goods were taken from a neighbouring residence.

CPS is grateful to the Brackendowns SAPS for their prompt help.

Men arrested in Alberton North

A suspicious male was spotted lurking on the streets during the early hours of September 26.

The man arrested in Alberton North.

CPS Security reaction units stopped the male and questioned him, finding on him a Mandrax tablet and a knife.

They arrested the suspect and handed him to the Alberton SAPS, where he was charged with possession of narcotics and a dangerous weapon.

Hijacker arrested in Alberton North

A CPS reaction officer received information from a Night Hawk Security member that after recovering a hijacked truck, a suspect was arrested, and his accomplice had fled on foot.

Additional units were called, and the area was saturated.

A CPS Security reaction unit officer saw the second suspect, the driver of the hijacked truck.

The suspect was arrested and taken back to the scene.

The truck was originally en route to Mpumulanga when the owner noticed it was on the incorrect route and alerted his service provider.
