WATCH: Alberton City Shopping Centre empowers women

Female-owned start-up businesses won prizes valued at R20 000 and mentorship from Tol’thema.

Alberton City Shopping Centre hosted a female-led start-up entrepreneurs’ event to close Women’s Month.

The gathering held on August 31 had the theme, ‘A doek is a crown for every woman’.

Female-owned start-up businesses in Alberton and the surrounding areas were encouraged to enter the prize give-away.

The entries were open between August 9 and 31, when the winners were announced. They received shopping vouchers, and those who did not make it, walked away with home appliances, all courtesy of the centre.
