Cricket star Benjamen Duvenage (13) shines with hat-trick for Laerskool Randhart

Just recently, Benjamen got right on target with a chase at 40/2 and then, in 11 balls, saw the game end.

Laerskool Randhart learner Benjamen Duvenage shows signs of a promising future SA cricketer.

Benjamen (13) is doing well in the sport, and his family hopes for the best for him.

A cricketing all-rounder, Benjamen was part of a team that recently thumped Leeuwenhof Akademie when it faced the Ranties – Laerskool Randhart’s cricket side. Benjamen managed 1.5 overs (11 balls), seven wickets for two runs, one run from the bat, one wide, and one hat-trick.

All seven wickets by Benjamen were clean bowled, which is remarkable, and the last three of the game were a hat trick.

During the match, Leeuwenhof Akademie was right on target with the chase at 40/2, and then, in 11 balls, the game was over.

Benjamen hopes to pursue a cricket career full-time, hopefully as a player.

Asked if there are any plans in the works to ensure he continues pursuing cricket at an even higher level, Stef Duvenage (Benjamen’s father) said, “He is going to Jeppe High School for Boys next year, and we trust his cricket will bloom under their guidance and he will achieve his full potential.”
