CPS Security and SAPS’ co-operation yields positive results

CPS Security goes over and above to fight criminal activities in the Alberton area.

CPS Security recently made several notable arrests in the Alberton area. Their proactive efforts in apprehending wanted suspects for burglaries have resulted in a safer neighbourhood.

Wanted suspect arrested Alberton

CPS staff arrested this wanted suspect.

CPS Security arrested a suspect last week for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

According to the director of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe, they were informed that the suspect was released this week and had a warrant out for his arrest for an armed robbery case in the Richards Bay area.

CPS loaded the suspect’s number plate onto their LPR cameras, and they received an alert on August 20 that the car was in the neighbourhood.

CPS located the car, brought it to a halt, and apprehended the driver and the passenger.

The CPS officers contacted the EMPD and the SAPS, who searched the vehicle, seizing narcotics, weapons and money.

The men were charged with possession of narcotics and dealing in narcotics.
The wanted suspect will be transported to Richards Bay, where he will be detained as per the arrest warrant.

Gate motor thief apprehended

CPS officers arrest the alleged gate motor thief.

Early in the morning of August 20, a business premises sent out a signal of an electrical failure.

When the CPS reaction squad arrived, they discovered the gate had been left open.

After a brief examination, they determined that the gate motor had been stolen.

More reaction units were dispatched to cover more ground and find the stolen gate motor. They located the suspect nearby and found him with the stolen gate motor.

CPS officer arrested the suspect and contacted the Alberton SAPS.

CPS Security applauded the reaction units for the arrest.

LPR camera success

The LPR camera system helps in many arrests.

CPS Security received an alert for a wanted car, and it set off an LPR camera in the Glenvista neighbourhood.
The CPS tactical squad searched the area and found the car.

Soon after, the Flying Squad and the Mondeor SAPS apprehended the occupant.

False documentation was used to purchase the vehicle, so the SAPS opened a case of fraud.

House breakers arrested

The arrested housebreakers.

A resident called the CPS Security control room early in the morning to report that two men had broken into their property on August 13

After reacting, the reaction teams caught the two suspects inside the building and contacted the Brackendowns SAPS, who took both men into custody.

Unlicensed firearm recovered

This suspect was found with an unlicensed firearm.

CPS received a tip about a person who had threatened people with a gun while on parole for armed robbery.

The EMPD Community Liaison Unit and the Alberton SAPS raided the suspect’s residence, arresting three suspects at the scene and seizing one unlicensed firearm and narcotics.

The suspects were transported to the Alberton SAPS and charged with possession of narcotics and an unlicensed firearm.

Battery thief arrested

CPS officers noted a suspicious man pushing a wheelie bin on August 12.

They stopped the man, questioned him and found stolen batteries taken from a nearby cellphone tower in his possession.

The officers contacted the Alberton SAPS, who arrested and charged the man.

Gate motor thief arrested

CPS reaction units responded to a panic signal after a resident saw someone inside their yard on August 11.

Additional units were requested to saturate the area because the suspect had fled.

Within minutes, the suspect was found and taken into custody.

Officers found tools used to steal gate motors in the suspect’s possession.

The officers contacted the Brackendowns SAPS, who took the suspect into custody.
