Alberton SAPS roll up sleeves to combat crime

Members of Alberton SAPS conducted a crime-busting operation on August 16, where they visited 12 schools in the precinct.

Alberton SAPS recently led a mini-Shanela Operation at their policing precinct.

At least three high-ranking members were deployed and 24 officers and one security company joined in a crime-busting operation, which focused on sweeping crime off the streets.

Members searched 98 people and 42 vehicles, visited 21 ATMs, 10 banks, 12 spaza shops, 12 schools and visited eight taxi ranks.

They also visited three community grounds, 16 filling stations, and eight shopping malls.

One suspect was nabbed for possession of a hijacked vehicle.
