City calls for Youth Legacy Excellence Awards nominations

It is that time of year again, when you may nominate a young person who has demonstrated remarkable abilities and outstanding service in their community.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) seeks nominations for the Youth Legacy Excellence Awards which recognise deserving youth for their creativity and excellent career or community service.

Nominations close on July 12. Submit your nominations on a form available on the website.

The nominees should meet the following criteria:

• Be an Ekurhuleni resident, aged between 18 and 35 by the end of June 2024.

• Not be an employee or immediate family member of employees of the CoE.

• Have demonstrated a vision for the future in their career, workspace, or community.

• The nominee’s vision has turned into tangible outcomes with a proven track record.

• Can provide examples of the impact of projects listed as part of the motivation for nomination.

• The submission/application must demonstrate how the vision promotes innovation, whilst ensuring they leave no one behind.

• The nominee has not received similar awards from the CoE, such as the 100 Ekurhuleni Shining Stars Award.
The award ceremony will be on July 25.
