CPS Security continues to fight crime in Alberton

They advised the public to report crimes to any law enforcement agency.

CPS Security has caused quite a stir in the Alberton area over the past two weeks by making several noteworthy arrests.

Their proactive efforts in apprehending wanted suspects of burglars have resulted in a safer neighbourhood.

Alleged drug dealers in Brackenhurst

The CPS Security team and EMPD CLU conducted high-density operations in the Brackendowns policing area. They visited several hotspots and spotted two suspicious-looking males exiting a certain premises.

The team did a stop-and-search where they found both men had a large amount of narcotics.

The two were arrested, taken to Brackendowns police station and charged with possession and dealing of narcotics.

CPS Security members have arrested one suspect on numerous occasions for various crimes.

Attempted murder suspect arrested

A shooting incident occurred on the evening of June 1 after two men got into an altercation at a local establishment. One suspect opened fire on the victim, striking him three times.

The attempted murder suspect apprehended.

The officers received information about the suspect’s location and getaway vehicle. SAPS, EMPD and CPS Security officers formed a team to conduct an operation.

They arrested one suspect and seized the getaway vehicle, a white Audi S3, used in the commission of the crime.
The suspect is currently facing charges of attempted murder and is held at Boksburg North Police Station. The second suspect is still at large.

Alleged burglar apprehended in Verwoerdpark

A man was apprehended by CPS Security in Schoeman Street, Verwoerdpark, for house burglary on May 27.

The sales director of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe, said a reaction officer spotted during a routine patrol spotted a suspicious man walking in the street and seemed to carry something heavy.

“When our officer approached the man, the man pulled out a knife on the reaction officer and ran away on foot.
“Our reaction officer gave chase and requested for backup. He chased the suspect into Schoeman Street, where the officers in the backup vehicle stopped him.

“The suspect also attempted to stab this reaction officer. He was immediately disarmed and arrested before the officers requested SAPS assistance,” Van der Merwe said.
