Calling all parents to attend workshop

Tutela Alberton will host a parental guidance workshop on November 4 from 08:00 to 16:00 at Ligstad, 32 Van Riebeeck Avenue, Alberton North.

The cost is R100 per person, which includes the manual plus a light lunch. The course will be presented by Alida Jooste, the social worker at Ligstad.

Why do I need to attend this workshop?

• Parenting is no easy task and yet it is the role we are least equipped for in life;

• We parent the way our parents parented us, do the exact opposite or have a hybrid model of parenting we need to design while we are flying this aeroplane called parenting;

• Sometimes we lose our “co-pilot” and have to do it all alone;

• That brings about an extra set of challenges;

• All parents need support, but all parents don’t have support in their immediate environment;

• Tutela’s parental guidance workshop is designed to provide a safe place for parents to get some
in-service training and support;

• Parents help parents and our social workers help with the newest research in parenting in order
for group members to add that to their parenting toolbox;

• Parents attending this workshop are empowered as parents. In the process, they connect with other parents and learn from them in a safe space

• Join a support group to enjoy your child.

Bookings can be made via WhatsApp to Alida at 079 693 3666 or email alida.joost@lidstad.co.za no later than November 1 at 16:00.
