Alberton Boxing Club coaches represent well

The Alberton boxing coaches who recently left for the South African National Boxing Organisation’s (Sanabo) Youth and Elite National Boxing Championships in Limpopo were celebrated.

Accomplished coaches Estelle Greeff, Gert de Klerk and Pieter Strydom of the Alberton Boxing Club recently formed part of a team that carried out official duties at the SA Champs from July 5 to 8.

There, Greeff was a judge, while De Klerk and Strydom were a referee and a judge.

Their skills and capabilities earned them their roles.

Strydom previously told the Alberton Record they had to be qualified refs and judges to be selected to go to Limpopo for the championships.

After carrying out their duties, Strydom received an award for being the best male official at the championships.

“All the officials received medals for their participation, and I also received a trophy for my recognition. During the championships, Gauteng was second place overall, and the province also had one boxer who came out on top at the tournament,” he explained.
