Alberton power outage repairs not complete

The repairs have resumed this morning and are hopefully to be completed today.

Clr Ivan Naidoo has informed residents that the current power outage in parts of Alberton will require a lengthy repair process.

In a statement shared by Alberton Energy Depot Manager at 00:14, July 5 they advised residents that they have managed to restore the power till this morning.

“We have restored the power because we managed to do some repairs. However, we are not completely done and we will again switch the supply off tomorrow at 8h00 and hopefully restore fully at 12h00,” said in a statement.

Alberton Record will keep updating its readers as soon as more information becomes available.

Power Outage Tips:

  • Keep freezers and refrigerators closed.
  • Use a generator, but ONLY outdoors and away from windows.
  • Do not use a gas stove or oven to heat your home.
  • Disconnect appliances and electronics to avoid damage from electrical surges.
  • Have alternate plans for refrigerating medicines or using power-dependent medical devices.
  • Check with local officials about heating and cooling locations open near you.
