Local franchise raises much-needed funds towards young model’s overseas trip

Community members showed their support to budding model Tshepiso Sekoto’s fundraiser event hosted by Alberton Crossing McDonald’s on March 12 from 15:00 to 18:00.

Randhart’s budding model Tshepiso Sekoto (16) will be leaving for the USA in July and she desperately needs monetary assistance to make her trip a success.

She needs at least R150 000 to cover all her expenses and any monetary donation would be highly appreciated.

To meet this increased need, Alberton Crossing McDonald’s held a special fundraiser on March 12 to raise funds for Tshepiso to help cover her expenses. Ten per cent of all sales made in the afternoon went towards her trip.

With sales summing up to R7 994 as well as monetary donations, they managed to raise at least R1 110 during their fundraiser.

Her mother, Talent Sekoto, thanked Alberton Crossing McDonald’s for their support towards making her daughter’s dream a reality.

“I can’t believe this is happening and there are no words that can express my appreciation for Alberton Crossing McDonald’s. If words could be hugs I would send you pages. Saying thank you is not enough to capture the gratitude of my heart towards your warm kindness towards my daughter,” she said.

The local franchise will be holding another fundraiser on May 7.

Anyone willing to sponsor her dream to go to the USA may contact her mother on 082 941 6872.
