Ekurhuleni needs input in drafting new water service bylaws

Ekurhuleni asks for advice from the community to help them draft new water service bylaws which will be fair for everyone.

The City of Ekurhuleni invites people from our communities to help with the formulation of the new water service by-laws.

Services for draft water clause 11 of chapter three of the Water Services Act (Act 108 of 1997), which requires the city as a water service authority to gradually ensure all current and potential customers in its area of jurisdiction have efficient, affordable, economical and sustainable access to water services, have to be implemented by the by-law.

Anyone wishing to provide feedback on the proposed by-laws draft may do it in writing by no later than March 31 or electronically at Waterservicebylaw@ekurhuleni.gov.za

Comments may also be sent to the department head’s office at water and sanitation, City of Ekurhuleni, civic centre, sixth floor office, Boksburg corner Trichardt and Market streets. The public may also visit the nearest customer care centre, where staff members will help them submit their feedback.

The approach will be discussed in detail in public meetings soon.
