Brackenhurst uniform store gives back to learners

A local school uniform retailer, Scholare School Uniform, cherished its long-lasting relationship with Brackenhurst Primary and Kenton Primary School on November 16.

While living up to their motto of ‘building the future’, Scholare School Uniform showed acts of kindness by generously presenting Brackenhurst Primary and Kenton Primary School with a stack of books.

This was the school uniform retailer’s way of extending their appreciation to both schools for their continuous support since its establishment at least five years ago.

They donated several book genres ranging from academic, fiction to story books.

According to Clintongarryd Poobalan of the business, they are firm believers that investing in children’s education is through empowering them educationally.

“Since the business opened we have been providing school uniforms for them and both schools have since been very supportive over the years. Seeing that they also brought us business, this was our way of saying ‘thank you’,” said Poobalan.

Namasha Daya, teacher at Brackenhurst Primary School said: “We’re so grateful for the lovely donation. We want to start off our own little library and this is going to be our building block on where we’re going to go. We’re going to rotate these books to the classes we currently have.”

A thankful Teresa Chisholm from Kenton Primary School said these books will really come in handy in extending learners’ knowledge.

“We have little book corners in our foundation phase classrooms and when children are finished with their written tasks, we allow them to take a book to read. We promote reading and we have a very good standard of reading at our school,” she said.
