Bassionia JKA shine at SAJKA National Championships

The Bassionia club won 70 medals (26 gold, 16 silver and 28 bronze).

The South African Japan Karate Association (SAJKA) National Championships were recently held at Emirates Indoor Arena, with Bassionia JKA among the clubs who took medals home.

This is one of South Africa’s largest championships, lasting two days and taking place on eight mats under the watchful eye of more than 200 referees. Nearly 4000 entries and more than 200 divisions attended.

Forty-seven club members were chosen to represent the SAJKA Gauteng team where they excelled, with 45 of them receiving SAJKA national colours.

The Bassionia club won 70 medals (26 gold, 16 silver and 28 bronze).

For more information on becoming a member of the club, Monday and Wednesday classes at Bassonia JKA are open to all ages including special Dinky classes for the little ones (4-7yrs).
