Alberton Camera Club’s March winners

The winners are judged across four categories as juniors and seniors respectively.

Alberton Camera Club has announced the winners for March.

Vinesh Kara, a four-star photographer, was named the winner in the senior category.

The photo that was declared the best overall senior image was taken by Kara and titled Contemplating Life. This photo was also declared the best mono senior image.

Among the juniors, the best overall junior image was taken by Fanie Pretorius. His photograph, Pink Pelican, also won the best wildlife and nature junior image category.

Other winners were:

• The best mono junior image was Juvenile Hooded Vulture by Fanie Pretorius (three-star).

• The best open colour junior image was Chinese Fire by Lefoke Steward Masweneng (two-star).

• The best theme junior image was Fire by Louis Mouton (three-star). The theme was fire.

• The best open colour senior image was Secret Bay by Ben Botha (seven-star).

• The best theme senior image was Ketels by Ben Botha (seven-star). The theme was fire.

• The best wildlife and nature senior image was Welpie by Ben Botha (seven-star).

Alberton Camera Club welcomes beginners to the expert photographers, both the young and the not so young.

The club meets on the first Tuesday of every month for Shutter Chat where they learn more about photography and the third Tuesday of every month for judging evening.

Due to covid restrictions, the club meetings are held via Zoom. They form part of the Southern Gauteng Region and the club is a member of the Photographic Society of SA (PSSA).
