Two transported to hospital after light aircraft crashed near South Rand Road

Just after midday, paramedics responded to reports of a light aircraft crash in the south of Johannesburg.

Two people have been injured after a light aircraft crashed down on approach to South Rand Road this Saturday, October 30.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the light aircraft suffered engine problems and tried to get back to the runway.

Chantal Peel, a paramedic from National Paramedical Services said the two patients were transported to Netcare Union Hospital by another service for further medical attention.

Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
