The quest for happiness

Pastor Clive shares a message about God's love

Each of us wants to be happy.

Happiness is one of our most human desires and yet so little is known or understood about happiness. What is exactly is this feeling of happiness? What causes it? What makes it go away?

Could it be permanent? These are important questions, yet few people seem to know the answers. Is it achieving our goals that makes us happy?

Is it health, wealth, personal fulfilment? One would think that having these things would make us happy, but it seems the answer is not so obvious or simple as that.

A happy home

Money cannot buy happiness. To be brought up in the atmosphere of a Christian family is a blessing far greater than money can buy. Some of us may not have experienced this, but we can pray that with God’s help, this blessing will be given to our children. The bible teaches us to live together as families. The psalmist was right when he said: God gives the lonely a home to live in.

Psalm 68:6 God sets the lonely in families. He leads forth the prisoners with singing: But the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. The writer in Genesis put it like this: The Lord God says, “It is not good that man should be alone: I will make him a helper fit for him.” Genesis 2.18
