Bronwynne’s Dancing Academy on a winning streak

Dancers from Bronwynne’s Dancing Academy (BDA) in Randhart decided that they were not going to let a virus and lockdowns interfere with their passion and love of dance.

They continued to work hard and committed to ensuring they did BDA themselves and their parents proud by achieving excellent results.

Despite the challenges of 2020, the students participated in several online competitions and had an exceptionally successful 2020.

The highlight of 2020 was when they were awarded full colours through Solo Dance Sport South Africa and got selected to represent South Africa at the World Championships of Performing Arts, regrettably, this competition was postponed due to travel restrictions. The students have yet again excelled during another trying and difficult year.

In 2021, the students at BDA participated in several online and live competitions.

One step at a time to winning performances.

The online competitions were once again extremely successful, with students all qualifying to participate at the national round when they entered The South African Championship of Performing Arts (SACOPA) provincial qualifier.

They also participated online with the Bedford Eisteddfod and walked away with outstanding results with the highest percentage received being 98%. The studio average is 88%.

The live competitions yielded even better results.

Students participated in the Alberton Eisteddfod Dance Section, where a number of them received section and item winner placings. They were rewarded with a total of 16 diplomas, 34 gold and three silver placings.
The most exciting, however, was when a select group of the students participated at the Talent Africa Provincial round, all qualifying for the national round.
