Two-vehicle collision leaves one dead, two injured
The man trapped inside the burnt vehicle succumbed to his injuries.
A man was killed and two others injured, including a four-year-old, when two vehicles collided on Mohlala Road in Alberton last night.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 21:00 to find the Provincial Fire Services extinguishing a fire that had broken out in one vehicle.
On closer inspection, medics found a man and child lying near one vehicle while a man was found lying trapped inside the burning car.
On assessment, it was found the man inside the burned vehicle had succumbed to his injuries, while the second man was in a critical condition. The child had escaped with only minor injuries.
Medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life-support interventions. After treatment, the two patients were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
