Kgomotso shares the five values she lives by.

Kgomotso Mamama (13) is part of the i4118 Foundation and shared how a project has helped her to find herself.

The project was to write down five values and describing what each of them meant to each student.

According to Mentor, Liz Browne, they learn about values weekly and the main reason is to let their creativity come alive.

The RECORD visited Kgomotso to talk about her values and what they mean to her.

The following is Kgomotso’s five values with a description of what each one means.

She made a card and cut it out in the form of a hand and then she wrote the values on it.“I have put it up against our fridge at home so that my whole family can see it,” she said

.• Courage: “This means to face your fears and conquer them,” she said.

• Honesty: Kgomotso said that this means that you should tell the truth even when it hurts.

• Kindness: “To always have a good heart.”

• Respect: “To treat others and their time the way you want to be treated.”

• Self-discipline: “To do the right thing before someone tells you to.”

The one value out of all five that stands out for Kgonotso is respect.

“If you have respect not only for others but for yourself you are already on a good path. You can learn a lot from the word respect,” she explained.
