Mrs SA semi-finalist launches #SaveOurChildren campaign

Thembi Sambo, local franchisee and Mrs South Africa 2021 semi-finalist, recently launched the campaign #SaveOurChildren.

Local entrepreneur and Mrs South Africa 2021 semi-finalist, Thembi Sambo, recently launched the campaign #SaveOurChildren with the intent to bring change to communities.

The New Market resident introduced this initiative during her visit to Germiston’s Hawk Academy.

Through this movement and with the help of sponsors, they collect journals or notebooks to encourage the youth to pen down their dreams while they monitor them.

This according to Sambo helps the youth to visualise their dreams and to set realistic goals.

“With the rate of bullying, substance abuse, poverty among the youth and abuse, the initiative aims to awaken the dreams of our youth. We aim to motivate, encourage and bring change in our communities. This outreach programme is a dream come true for me,” she said.

Thembi Sambo in an interview with the RECORD.

She said while growing up she would pen everything down, although her circumstances did not allow her to dream big. Through this method she was able to monitor herself.

Sambo said: “I thank God for everyone who supported me in making this dream come true. I also thank Hawk Academy for opening their door to us and our young professionals who were with me on the day of the launch.”

The following sponsors were thanked: Matlale Matladi Attorneys, Diet Solutions Dieticians, Euphoria Lounge & Car Wash, Tender Hearts Foundation, Afrobonatics and Phume Array.
