Negotiations underway for injured customer

Digashwa’s request is for Dipula Income fund to compensate her for her loss of income.

Dipula’s property management is taking steps to attend to a complaint of an injured costumer who accused the shopping centre of ignorance after she was left helpless for two months following her injury last year, on December 25.

The property manager of the shopping centre at Sam Sekoati Ave in Vosloorus, Veronica Molefe, told Kathorus Mail that they are still gathering information.

She said she personally met with Maria Digashwa last week to find a suitable resolution.

“We spoke several times with Digashwa and at this point we are handling the matter. “I contacted her last Friday for a meeting and I called her again several days later to request for documents to get clarity on the costs of her treatment,” said Molefe.

Digashwa’s request is for the centre to compensate her for her loss of income due to the injuries she sustained to her left leg.

She previously told Kathorus Mail that her business stopped operating because she delivers her product to clients. This has affected her because she provides for her three sons and eight grandchildren who must go to school.

“I feel relieved now that they are taking accountability. I was really frustrated as I had to pay for the doctor, I did not know what to do.

“What frustrated me more is being side-lined, hence I decided to involve the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (Nafcoc). I am happy that we are making progress,” said Digashwa.

Nafcoc chairperson George Ratswana said they are happy that this matter is now being receiving attention.

“I have acknowledged receiving the letter from the property management, but I indicated my disappointment that it took four months to attend to the ramifications of the injury,” Ratswana.

“We will leave this process to be resolved between Digashwa and property management.”

Molefe assured Kathorus Mail that they will stay in communication with Digashwa until the matter is resolved.

Background

Digashwa was injured on December 25 at the shopping centre due to an apparent uneven floor at the premises.
She sustained injuries to her leg, which required her to get medical attention.

Digashwa explained that at the time of the incident she was leaving the centre when her trolley overturned in the parking lot and hit her on her leg.
