The EMPD’s drug enforcement unit partnered with K9 unit officers patrolling Eden Park, Greenfields and Palm Ridge area in apprehending the suspects.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, the EMPD spokesperson, this is after the officers stopped and frisked five suspicious males and one female.

“The crime-fighting squadron uncovered 43 ziplocks of khat, six-quarter and full Mandrax tablets, 71 plastic and paper-wrapped including ziplocks of dagga, valued at R15 340, with R430 cash. The suspects were between the ages of 24 and 48,” he said.

The detainees facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance were escorted to Eden Park SAPS. They are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
