Mayberry Park aspiring model (15) seeks funds to go overseas

In order to be able to travel overseas, she needs an amount of R80 000 to cover her trip, the expenses include her return flights and scheduled workshops.

Young, aspiring model Koketso Rampedi from Mayberry Park has secured a life-changing opportunity to join many other talented youngsters in the states after being signed into 33 and Me Talent Agency as a model.

The 15-year-old’s dream has come true; however, she will need financial assistance to make her New York trip a success.

Through the 33 and Me Talent Agency, she auditioned for the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) talent search.

She was selected to compete against other models from across the globe in New York City in July.

“I aspire to become the next great supermodel. I’m an open-minded person who works hard and who is forever chasing my dreams. This New York trip will offer me an opportunity to showcase my skills and learn from industry professionals,” she said.

Big dreams

Rampedi discovered her passion for modelling at a tender age.

“I used to wear my mother’s clothes and shoes and model around the house. I realised I’m passionate about this. I first joined Figures Modelling Agency in Alberton at age five and won a pageant in 2010 and continued attending until 2014,” she said.

The artistic youngster is quite confident that she will be able to juggle both her academics and modelling journey.

“I got back into modelling in 2019 so it could help improve my confidence in high school. I want to motivate people to feel confident and powerful in their bodies, to celebrate their natural beauty. To achieve my goals, I am appealing to sponsors to kindly lend financial assistance,” said Rampedi.

To be able to travel overseas, she needs an amount of R80 000 to cover her trip, the expenses include her return flights and scheduled workshops.

Her mother also needs to go along since she is a minor as per the agency’s request, this brings the costs to about R130 000.
