Alberton North store awakens Christmas spirit

An Alberton North-based store, General Hygiene Supplies, decided to cherish the spirit of Christmas by giving back to the community on December 11.

After a long unprecedented year, an Alberton North-based store decided to cherish the spirit of Christmas by giving back to the community.

On December 11 the cleaning supplies store, General Hygiene Supplies, presented its loyal customers with gifts.
The donated packs comprised different cleaning products, which included toilet paper, steel wool, dish cloths and soap.

According to store owner Gerrie van Wyk, the timing of the occasion was ideal since a lot of people have been adversely affected by the crippling effects of Covid-19.

“In its two years of existence, this was the first time the event was hosted and it was solely hosted to appreciate the support of our customers. Every time a customer purchased an item, we would put a stamp and we then selected them on that basis,” he said.

Van Wyk, whose store originally branched out from Nigel, told the RECORD the occasion was the beginning of many to follow.
