Brackenhurst Primary School has shared a few tips to keep parents and learners in foundation phase busy during school holidays.

Parents have a great choice, such as downloading mobile reading apps such as Book Dash, Nali’bali, and Fairytales. These will assist learners in familiarising themselves with new words and language.

Thandazile Ndlovu of Brackenhurst Primary School said: “There are great art ideas on Pinterest: hop scotch with chalk, making a home-made volcano, and creating the solar system with play dough. Children can also try HopScotch Bean Bag Game and bean bag toss with some targets.”

Ndlovu advised that children should play word games by writing sight words on a wall then throwing a bean bag or ball then reading out loud the words they hit.
