There was cheering from parents and those that came through as learners partook in traditional performances in music, dance, poetry and drama.
As the day progressed, learners also competed in art drawings and heritage dress-up. Parents also had a share in the fun and competed with learners in games such as egg-on-spoon race, three-legged race, leap frog race and many others.
Robert Kitty, principal at the school, said: “We thank our sponsors and parents for their overwhelming support for this event, without them it wouldn’t have been a success. We also thank our Grades R to Nine learners and our staff for preparing the event.”
He also thanked guest judge Mile Ngaka from the Department of Education for his support and handing out prizes to the winners of the day.
Kitty said this was going to be an annual event and that it will be bigger the following year.
