GALLERY: Michelle’s Dancing Academy win big at Talent Africa Nationals

Dancers from Michelle's Dancing Academy in Verwoerdpark competed in Talent Africa Nationals, an online competition during lockdown.

“It was not easy as there had been no rehearsals for months before being told to submit videos for an online national competition,” said teacher Michelle Johnson.

Eleven dancers from Michelle’s Dancing Academy competed in over 40 sections, including dance, drama, art, modelling and photogenic.

“They all qualified for the international competition.”

Shannon James was one of the top achievers as she received a gold medal for all her categories and she also received four special awards, which included Face of Gauteng, Top 5 Photogenic, Top Senior Orator and Top 10.

“I am very proud of all my dancers and wish them well for the internationals,” Michelle concluded.
