Alberton SAPS has confirmed that at least two suspects were nabbed in Alrode for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on September 9.
This comes after an intelligence-driven operation after Alberton SAPS received a tip-off from members of the community.
Capt Manare Ramotshela, Alberton SAPS spokesperson, said: “Police followed up and came across the suspects. Upon their arrest they were informed of their constitutional rights and searched.”
The two suspects, aged 29 and 34, will soon appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s court. Ramotshela commended the women and men in blue for the arrest.
