Ekurhuleni prepares to open its licensing centres

Measures for hygiene, disinfection control, social distancing and sanitising are being put in place

The City of Ekurhuleni is preparing to open its licensing centres as provided for in the Level 3 regulations for the covid-19 lockdown.

Currently, measures for hygiene, disinfection control, social distancing and sanitising are being put in place, said Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the City of Ekurhuleni.

Residents will be notified on June 5 of the exact date for resumption of licensing services in Ekurhuleni.

All learner’s licences, driver’s licences, temporary driver’s licences, motor vehicle licence discs, temporary permits, roadworthy certificates and professional driving permits that expired between March 26 and May 31 are still valid and will remain valid for 90 days as from June 1.

Motor trade number licences that expired during the same period are also deemed to be valid and are extended for a further grace period of six months from the date of publication of these directions.
