The new calendar for the dates of the pickup was from March 3. The calendars were not included in the services accounts at the end of February.
Residents who have access to the internet printed the calendars and were able to see that the pickup will be on the Mondays of each week, but this never materialised due to the contractor being confused about the days the refuse removal should be done.
As we are all paying for the services of refuse removal, this is unacceptable that we do not receive the service from the metro. No refuse removal will encourage illegal dumping, which is a very big problem in Palmridge presently.
The metro needs to take responsibility for the above situation and resolve this urgently.
The following was a response from the official Jan Bloem from the Alberton CCC on the March 14 regarding the above situation:
The contractor in the area will work on the new calendar as from Monday March 17. The refuse in Palmridge Formal will be removed as per calendar on this day, but this did not happen.
