Pick n Pay Newmarket is geared to serve their community

Pick n Pay Newmarket at the Lemon Tree has over the years built a relationship with their customers as the best place for their grocery shopping.

During the time of lockdown, this has not changed at all and the staff of Pick n Pay Newmarket has applied themselves to making it the safest environment possible.

Your one-stop for all groceries

Pick n Pay Newmarket prides themselves in being able to supply their customers with all the essential goods they need.

Due to the store’s size and its robust supply chains, customers can rest assured that the shelves remain filled with the products they are looking for.

A safe place to shop

As the prevention of the spread of the Covid-19 virus is of utmost importance, Pick n Pay Newmarket has taken every precaution to ensure the safety of their customers.

The measures start from the moment a customer visits the store. Every customer entering the premises is asked to sanitize their hands by staff offering hand sanitizer at the entrance. Wipes are available to customer’s trolleys. Precautions have been taken to limit the necessary human contact as much as possible.

Products like bread from the in-house bakery are provided pre-packaged so that customers can pick it up without having to ask. The same applies to the deli where the products are pre-packaged.

A safe and happy queue

As the potential for people to come close to each other increases as you approach the cashiers, important guidelines have been put in place to ensure that proper distancing is maintained by customers.

Distances are clearly marked on the floor to help people maintain the proper distance between each other.

There are also printed signs around the cashier area reminding the customers to keep a safe social distance from each other.

Protecting staff and customers

To protect both the customer and the cashier, Pick n Pay Newmarket has put several measures in place.

A Perspex screen has been placed at every cashier station providing a barrier between the customers and the cashier.

To further ensure the safety of these areas the benches at the cashier are regularly sanitized and cleaned with disinfectant.

All cashiers are also provided with a mask as they work.

Reaching those in need

Pick and Pay Newmarket has joined with stores all over South Africa in supporting the vulnerable people in dire need due to the nationwide lockdown.

They have put the measures in place for those that want to help to make a donation by buying a food hamper from any till that goes towards feeding those who are desperate for relief.

The hamper priced at R200 provides them with the necessary essentials to feed themselves and them survive the national lockdown.
