A joint operation between Moffat View SAPS, Fox Security and other law enforcement agencies saw four suspects getting apprehended on January 30 in Oakdene.
This comes after the suspects committed an armed robbery at Sportsman’s Warehouse at The Glen Shopping Centre.
It is alleged that the suspects entered the store and held the staff at gunpoint ordering them to lie down.
The suspects took various smart watches valued at about R200 000 and an undisclosed amount of cash.
SAPS JHB district spokesperson, Capt Jeff Phora, said they have learnt that it wasn’t only the four suspects, but there were 10 of them.
“Members discovered that two more suspects posed as scouts and another other two remained in the getaway vehicle,” said Phora.

The police are now hot on the heels of the other suspects who fled away.
The vehicle the suspects were driving tested positive to a previous crime which took place at Southgate.
“However, we are still not ruling out the possibility of linking the suspects to more crimes,” said Phora.
The Glen Shopping Centre marketing manager Dean Myburgh confirmed that the store was robbed.
In his statement, he said, “The suspects fled on foot and climbed into a white VW Jetta that was waiting for them in the public roadway outside the centre.
“SAPS and security companies were immediately alerted with a description of the suspects and vehicle given.
“The suspects were involved in a motor vehicle accident up the road from the centre and all suspects and stock was recovered.
“There were no shots fired and no injuries on scene,” said Myburgh.
