Eden Park Informal Business Forum

A follow-up Informal Business Forum will be held on February 2 at Eden Park.

EDEN PARK – After marathons of meetings between local traders and foreign traders (Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Ethiopian and Somali) an informal business forum, the first of its kind, was launched on January 12.

The Eden Park (Erstwhile) Informal Business Forum management committee was also elected. A Memorandum of Association between the local traders, non-residential traders and foreign traders were signed.

The management committee consists of five local traders and four foreigners and two community members will be co-opted. The committee members are optimistic and excited for what the future hold for the Erstwhile community.

Programmes that are likely to be rolled out in the nearby future will be aimed at poverty alleviation and job creation for locals.

ErstComBus Projects, a registered NGO, will provide mentorship and assist with the drafting of all forum-related documentation that enhance good practices.

The newly elected board had their first meeting on Saturday January 18. A follow-up meeting will be held on February 2. A public meeting is due to be held late in February at the JD Thomas Hall, Eden Park to provide feedback to the community of Eden Park.
