14 STAINED-Glass Workshops will be held in the the tranquil setting of Henley-on-Klip on September 14. Workshops last three to four hours and you will complete a sun catcher which is yours to keep. All tools and materials will be provided as well as instruction and possibly a cup of tea or coffee if you can drag yourself away from your project. The workshops are aimed at people who want to try their hand at stained glass before committing to buying equipment and glass, and to those who only want a little fun. 15 – 29 STORY Book Theatre will run at Peoples Theatre at the Joburg Theatre Complex from September 8 to September 29. Performance times are Mondays to Friday at 9am and 11am, Saturdays at 10.30am and 2.30pm as well as all Sundays and public holidays. Ticket prices are R140 for general public or R100 for members of the Peoples Theatre Kids Club. Story Book Theatre is aimed at young audiences, generally from three to 10 years, and is one event Johannesburg’s youngsters should not miss this spring. 15 Domestic training workshops to inform domestic workers on the latest modus operandi of criminals will be hosted monthly at the Dutch Reformed Church, Glen Drive, Verwoerdpark on September 15. 9 PROBUS Alberton Group, a group for the retired but young at heart, meets every second Wednesday of the month. In addition, they usually have an outing the following week.
