Family of murdered Forest High pupil missing their beloved son

Daniel’s sister Armandtne Baya (31) said losing their beloved brother left a hole in their hearts that won’t easily be mended.

DANIEL Bakwela (16) was stabbed to death outside Forest High School, in Forest Hill on June 3.

The Grade Eight learner was laid to rest on June 15, leaving behind his two siblings, mother, and father.

Daniel was second born at home and was loved and appreciated for who he was.

Daniel’s sister Armandtne Baya (31) said losing their beloved brother left a hole in their hearts that won’t easily be mended.

She told COURIER Daniel’s death came as a shock to all of them. They had high hopes for Daniel. She also said to witness his life get wasted in such a manner traumatised them.

“We haven’t healed. Everything in the house reminds us of him. Everyone is trying to heal but we can’t because we loved him.

“My mother can’t even sleep properly because of this. She has been in and out of hospital since the incident,” said Armandtne.

Armandtne said even Daniel’s father, who is in London, always asks her where Daniel is and she would tell him to let it go he’s no more.

“No one in the family believes that Daniel is no longer with us. His smile will forever be in our hearts. In the house he was very respectful and loving. I honestly miss him,” Armandtne added.

Armandtne also wants to use this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported them through their time of pain.

Armandtne Baya loved her young brother, 16-year-old Daniel Bakwela who was stabbed to death outside Forest High.
