Tee for Two golf day was a success

The efforts of 124 players and generous sponsors made this golf day a huge success.

ONCE again Stepping Stone Hospice had a successful annual golf day (Tee for Two) at the Reading Country Club on April 11.

This year 124 players supported the golf day in an effort to raise much-needed funds for the hospice.

“Thankfully, the rain stayed away and it turned out to be a perfect day for players to play some golf,” said Marietjie Tame, marketing and fund-raising manager.

The format of the competition was a betterball Stableford. Winners of the day, as well as the winners of the Vicky Bruce Trophy, was Barry Mills and Neil Bothma with 48 points.

The trophy is in honour of the late Vicky Bruce and was handed over by her mom and Stepping Stone CEO Tersia Burger.

In second place were Gert Pretorius and Jan Bedser with Jeff Naidoo and Jan Bekker in third place and Robbie Rob and Harry van Pilteus coming in fourth.

The Chantel Victor Trophy went to the best lady players of the day and the winning pair was Shelley Daymond and Hindy Belstead.

“Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all our players, sponsors and individuals who so generously and unselfishly contributed to our organisation. Without the amazing support from our community of friends, we will mostly not be able to keep our doors open,” said Tersia.
