SARS employees on strike at New Village shopping centre. They’re demanding 11.4% increase and the employer tables 7.1%.
According to DaLinda Swart,- Public Servants Association – The union of choice, “We were offered a 7.1% on a sliding scale based on each workers performance, we are rejecting the sliding scale  because we’ve got different responsibilities, they’ve taken away our performance bonuses.  We’re handing the memorandum today, March 28 in Pretoria SARS head office,” said Swart

“They’ve been waiting for the management since 10am.  And they’re not answering their phones” -added Swart.

An anonymous SARS employee told the RECORD that they just want to be treated fairly and that the employer must bring back their benefits and the percentage they are offering us is  ridiculously unfair.

Alberton police officers and the centre security company were on scene to monitor the situation. No form of violence and property damaging has been reported.

The business is going as usual.
