If you know me you will know Iām not a huge lover of rain! But rain we have had in copious amounts and I have to admit, gardens and parks are looking absolutely glorious. I canāt remember seeing such greenery for many years. Long may it reign!
New on the block
The all-new Southgate Fruit and Veg has finally opened its doors in a new location in Southgate Value Mart and customers are already raving about the store, which has been open just over a week.
This highly anticipated opening has been in the making for almost a year and the wait has been well worth it, with this unique one of a kind store conveniently located next to Shoprite. The response from customers has been amazing and they say they love the design, the colours, and the stunning wood finishes.
The fresh and extensive range of the highest quality fruit and vegetables will definitely have customers coming back for more, one customer said: āThe combos are really great value for money.ā
There is also a stunning selection of value for money flowers. āI havenāt treated myself to flowers for a very long time and I have just bought my second mixed bunch from here at half the price of anywhere else,ā said one woman. Overall, customers are agreeing that itās an absolute pleasure to come across such a gem of a store these days. Itās spotlessly clean, well-organised with friendly and professional staff and the best quality fresh produce at affordable prices.
One woman added, āItās great to know we can eat the healthiest of foods that taste so good and are easy on the pocket. There are always great combo deals offering good value and catering for families of all sizes.ā
For Valentineās Day, the flower and gifting section offers an impressive array of beautiful gifts to choose from, ranging from teddy bears to photo albums, a selection of stunning photo frames, gift bags, perfumes, adorable heart-shaped candles, helium balloons and so much more.
Itās a definite must visit, so do yourself a favour and pop in!
Are we losing our sense of humour?
I love quirky advertising and often, none do it better than Nandos. But last week when I was in Woolworths at Comaro View Shopping Centre, my eyes were drawn to two posters, with what I thought, was great advertising. I was smiling walking all around the store.
The posters for their Valentineās Day campaign featured a series of statements meant to describe a typical relationship, followed by the slogan ālove always winsā. After widespread social media outrage over gender stereotyping, Woolworths pulled its nationwide Valentineās campaign.
The female version of the poster reads – āShe orders a salad then steals your chips; she takes forever to get ready; she snuggles you to the edge of your bed; she uses your razor to shave her legs; she makes you her Instagram husband; she says sheās āfineā when you know sheās not.ā
The male version of the advert read: āHe touches your hair; he doesnāt know the title to āyour songā; he makes plans without telling you; he uses the wrong emojiās in text messages and believes heās entitled to the remote control; he thinks he knows better than Siri.ā
Now tell me, whatās wrong with this? Itās a fun advertising poster. Sorry if I upset anyone by saying this but really, some people are just too sensitive!
Bouquet of the Week
Tracy recently bought a packet of delicious āCanelleā biscuits from Pick n Pay Comaro Crossing, which are made by De Vries Foods. āThese thin, crisp biscuits are delicately flavoured with sugar and cinnamon – just the right amount – and they taste absolutely divine.ā
Thatās it for this week. Shop till you drop!
