Monthly Alberton CPF meeting

The CPF discussed crime issues with SAPS representatives.

ALBERTON CPF had their monthly meeting on January 16.

The meeting was headed by CPF chairperson Pieter Schreiber and representatives from Alberton SAPS were present at the meeting, which included a representative for each of the station’s units.

According to Capt Manare Ramotshela, spokesperson for Alberton SAPS, the major concern of hijackings in the area was discussed.

Victims of these hijackings give lifts to suspects who appear to be stranded. The suspect then proceeds to hijack the victim on the N3 highway.

“The highlighted resolution for the problem was liaising with the provincial office for assistance,” said Ramotshela.

“The head of communication of the provincial personnel will be contacted to handle the matter from a higher office.”
