ER24 transports Great Dane

Bianca Castleman Peens made all of the arrangements.

ER24 received a special request from the Furry Godmothers group on December 15, to help transport an injured Great Dane from Oakdene Vet to Brackenhurst Vet in Alberton.

“I was invited to attend the Furry Godmother’s year-end function to meet everyone. While we were having lunch they mentioned Joe Baloo, the Great Dane that needs to get to Brackenhurst Vet for an operation after he got injured.

TRANSPORTED: Joe Baloo in the ER24 ambulance on his way to Brackenhurst Vet.

“Ursula Hope from Furry Godmothers then said to me can’t you get us a stretcher and then Vicki Potts Nicholson asked jokingly why not then just get an ambulance. I made a few calls to management and the go-ahead was given that we can transport Joe free of charge,” said paramedic of ER24, Bianca Castleman Peens.

ARRIVED: Joe Baloo being pushed on a stretcher into the rooms of Brackenhurst Vet.

The ER24 crews made this happen by transporting the Great Dane in the ambulance. The crew loved that they could be of help and afterwards, they went back to their base to sterilise the ambulance.

CARE: Bianca Castleman Peens (paramedic from ER24) with Joe Baloo, the Great Dane.
