Five people lose their lives to unknown shooter in Roodekop

Police are appealing to the community to help bring the unknown shooter to book.

SAPS are conducting a manhunt for an unknown suspect(s) who shot and killed five people on Luthando Street in Roodekop.

On the morning of November 6, just after midnight, the sector police vehicle of Alberton SAPS was tasked to go to Luthando Street where there was a reported shooting in progress.

On arrival police officers were approached by people on the scene who pointed to the bodies of some of the victims from the shooting. The victims were shot, having bullet wounds to their upper bodies and heads.

Four of the victims were declared dead on the scene of the crime. The fifth victim was taken to Thelle Mogoerane Hospital, but was declared dead by a doctor at the hospital.

According to Captain Monare Ramotshela the management of Alberton SAPS, under the leadership of the station Commander Colonel Phuti Sekoma, is appealing to the community to help with any information which can lead to the arrest of this merciless culprit(s) who has committed such brutal activities.
