Alberton Gymnastics awards evening

The awards evening celebrated the achievements of the gymnasts throughout the year.

ALBERTON Gymnastics Clubs held their annual awards evening on November 28.

The evening, which was attended by the young gymnasts and their parents, as well as ex-gymnasts from the club, celebrated the achievements of the girls in this gymnastics year.

A trophy was awarded to each girl that achieved the highest aggregate score in her division. The scores were determined by averaging the scores of events they took part in during the year.

AWARDS: Trophies were awarded to the girls of Alberton Gymnastics Club on the awards evening at Sha-Mani lodge.

Trophies were given to gymnasts who placed overall in national events as well as those who managed to place on individual events. Other trophies given on the night were to recognise gymnasts who showed improvement and dedication.

The awards evening was also an opportunity to say goodbye to some of the gymnasts who have been with the club and are now leaving for various reasons.

On behalf of those leaving Louise de Villiers thanked their coaches and especially Cecile Prinsloo for all they have done for them over their gymnastics career.
