CHAN tickets now on sale

Tickets for the 3rd Orange African Nations Championship (CHAN 2014), to be held in South Africa 2014 from January 11 to February 1, are available for sale to the public. Tickets went on sale from November 29 in a tiered approach.

JOHANNESBURG – The tournament tickets, which will be available at Computicket outlets countrywide, will be sold to the general public from as little as R40 to a maximum of R200 only.

Speaking at the media launch in Pretoria, the LOC CEO, Mr Mvuzo Mbebe said, “In July we launched Orange CHAN 2014; in August we announced our Volunteer Programme and in September we drew the 16 teams who will participate in this tournament into four groups, and in October we raised the flags of the 16 nations representing the participating member associations.

“During the month of November we embarked on a dedicated ‘go-to-public communication campaign’ starting with the launch of our ticketing system which we believe will begin a massive public mobilisation programme, designed to create awareness and excitement about the tournament to urge every football loving African to get their ticket in their hands – ‘ithikithi esandleni’.

“We have applied the same principle of a multi-phased discount system for those early birds who are eager to secure themselves the front seat to what we believe will be a spectacular tournament where we celebrate Africa’s Home Champions.”

Presenting the ticketing structure, Mr Mbebe explained that the tickets will be sold in three discount phases, varying from up 20 per cent discount first phase, and up 15 per cent and 10 per cent for second and third phases, respectively. Category three tickets will not be discounted, except for the opening and closing ceremonies.

The ticket price will revert back to the standard ticketing structure after the end of the third phase of the discount period on January 22.
